Donna was a co-author on this best-selling guide, researching and writing the destination chapters for two of the country’s north-eastern regions, Trentino & Südtirol and Friuli Venezia Giulia.

These regions take in the alpine splendour of the Dolomiti, the seductive and cosmopolitan cities of Trieste, Bolzano, Trento, Udine and Merano, Friuli’s evocative and historic coast and the ever-fascinating border zones.

Her update  highlights the natural beauty, historically significant sights and the extraordinary, but often overlooked, food and wine culture of both regions, including tips from one of Friuli’s best winemakers. Donna also contributed a special colour feature on the importance of coffee to Italian society, the history of the espresso machine and Italian coffee’s possible future.
